The next implementation cycle of the international Consortium for Benchmarking Framework for Online, Open, Smart and Technology-enhanced Higher Education will launch in October 2025.

Participating universities will engage in a comprehensive quality assessment of their online education practices. This will enable both first-time and returning members to evaluate their achievements, identify areas for development, and benchmark their performance against other leading online and open universities worldwide. The project further facilitates collaborative work on strategies for institutional performance improvement and convenes expert meetings, panel discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities with quality assurance experts and stakeholders.

The Consortium promotes a shared understanding of quality in online higher education and provides a robust benchmarking framework built on six dimensions and 38 indicators. Participation is free of charge and open to all institutions committed to improving the quality of online education. 

We invite universities and higher education institutions from all regions to join the Consortium and take part in the upcoming cycle.
